The Akari 70EN Pendant is a larger version of the Akari 50EN and features an oval paper shade which, true to the theme of the collection, is crafted from washi paper wrapped around a minimal steel structure. The Japanese word "Akari" is translated to "light", a link to the goal of the entire collection, as the whole collection can be characterised by every lights weightless luminosity.
Designed by Isamu Noguchi this pendant is handcrafted by Japanese artisans in the Ozeki workshop, a traditional family-run company based in Gifu. The shade filters the lighting output and produces a soft and relaxing glow that is perfect for use as functional ambient illumination. This modern pendant light is a beautiful addition to living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms. It can be installed in spaces with high or low ceilings and can also be utilised in commercial spaces.
