Product Description

Aledin Tec LED by Kartell


Aledin Tec desk lamp is most known for its distinct flat diffuser, designed by Alberto and Francesco Meda. A sibling to the Aledin Dec, the Tec desk lamp is available in 5 translucent colour options; amber, blue, green, transparent and smoke and now 2 new matt finishes, matt black and matt white. The flat head emits a direct light and is adjustable making it a perfect fit for a desk lamp.

The Aledin Tec structure is made of two polycarbonate arms that encase two aluminium rods that transmit electricity to the LED light source. The Tec lamp can be dimmed, with class 3 being its highest function emitting about 600 lumens; while the use of the latest LED generation means there is a considerable saving.

About the designer

Alberto Meda & Francesco Meda

Alberto Meda was born in 1945 in Como and studied Mechanical Engineering at Milan Polytechnic where he graduated in 1969. In 1973 he became the technical manager of Kartell where he experimented with plastic-based materials and production processes, his time here came to an end in 1979 when he went on to work as a freelance designer, consulting for Gaggia and Alfa Romeo.
