Bellevue AJ7 Floor Lamp by &Tradition
Recently reissued by &Tradition, the Bellevue floor lamp is one of Danish master Arne Jacobsen’s most iconic designs.
Designed in 1929 for the ‘House of the Future’ – a collaboration between Jacobsen and his childhood friend Flemming Lassen which presented an aspirational view of the future in response to the Great Depression – Bellevue is an elegant, minimal floor lamp with an instantly recognisable cut-off shade and a tall, adjustable stem, ideal for spotlighting a reading nook or seating area and creating a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.
With its clean lines, graceful curves, and perfect balance between functionality and style, the Bellevue AJ7 is an early example of the design principles which would go on to form the basis of Danish Modernism; as &Tradition puts it, ‘these are beautiful things that make your life better.’
Available in a range of finishes, including several brand-new variants intended for more contemporary design schemes. Combine with the
