a-emotional light Kala Wall Light

The Kala Wall Light is designed by Arturo Alvarez for a-emotional light. Arturo is known for referencing nature in his designs, which can be seen in Kala. The irregular layers sit organically on top of each other, reminiscent of the ever-changing sand of the great dunes. Each layer is made from SIMETECH®, a stainless-steel and silicone mesh. This mesh is both malleable and durable, allowing Alvarez to create the organic forms necessary to capture the feeling of movement in this design.

Light from The Kala Wall Light is diffused through its irregular folds, creating an ambient glow that surrounds it. The top and bottom of the shade are left open, allowing light to spill out and illuminate the surrounding wall, basking the wall in light. This creates a beautiful statement, perfect to use as a feature to draw the eye towards the space it sits on. The Kala Wall Light can be installed individually or as multiples and is ideal for lighting either side of a doorway, or illuminating the length of a hallway.
