Evoke the spirit of the sixties with &Tradition’s Flowerpot VP1 Pendant.
One of the most iconic lights ever produced, the Flowerpot VP1 was designed by Danish design legend Verner Panton in 1968, at the height of the flower power movement. Panton’s mission was to encourage people to “use their imagination and make their surroundings more exciting," and by this measure the Flowerpot series was a resounding success, a design which has lived long in the collective imagination and continues even now to open up new and more exciting worlds.
The design itself is simple: two hemispheres, one exactly half the size of the other, work together to hide a light bulb from view, reflecting and diffusing its light around the room in the process. The result is a warm ambience which proved immediately to be a hit in homes, hotels, restaurants, and offices the world over, and which has lost none of its lustre in the intervening years.
Use several Flowerpots across a large space to ensure the atmosphere carries, or create a uniquely shaped cluster, perfect for hanging above a dining table or lobby. The Flowerpot family also includes the slightly larger
VP7 pendant, the much larger
VP2 pendant, and the
VP3 &
VP4 table lamps.
