Tom Raffield Arame Wall Light

The Arame Wall Light by Tom Raffield was inspired by nature. Named after a complex seaweed formation, Tom Raffield replicated the symmetry and organic shapes for this wall light. The result is a sculptural piece that looks as striking when switched off and it does on. When illuminated, the geometric patterns within the structure create a transfixing play of shadows against the surrounding wall. Available in an Ash or Walnut finish, the Arame Wall Light is best showcased in multiples, allowing for the contrast in colours to create a striking juxtaposition. Ash is the lighter finish of the two and produces an intense glow when illuminated. The darker finish, walnut, turns a rich golden colour when illuminated, creating a bold contrast of light and shadows.

The Arame Wall Light was created by steam-bending wood, a process that is typical of Tom Raffield designs. This is an ecological process that is low on waste and results in seamless patterns free from any glue. Designed and handcrafted by an expert team in their Cornish studio in England, the Arame Collection also includes a pendant which is available in two sizes. This collection can be displayed together to create a cohesive, artisanal display throughout your home. In commercial spaces, the Arame Wall Light is suited to cafes and bars with natural décor. In 2019, the Arame Wall Light won the Darc Award for sustainable design and manufacture.
