This latest Wall Light by Le Klint has been created as a tribute to the unique and iconic SAX lamp. This special 70th-anniversary model has been developed in collaboration with the descendants of designer Erik Hansen. First designed in 1952, the 224 has become one of Le Klint’s most popular piece. However, it wasn’t originally designed for Le Klint. Erik Hansen had designed the lamp for himself and approached Le Klint for a shade for the frame. The lighting brand was so interested in his design that they tasked him with developing the idea further which resulted in the 224 that we know today. To differentiate it from the original 224 Model Wall Light, all fine details come in a sleek brass finish, and the power cable now boasts a braided linen cord.
The 224 Anniversary Model features the same classic hand-pleated Le Klint paper shade that is synonymous with Le Klint. As well as adding a delicate touch to an otherwise robust-looking structure, the shade diffuses light into a soft glow that fills the surrounding space. The open bottom creates a downward directional light that is perfect to read under while the adjustable frame lets you move the light source to where it’s required. Install by a bedside or behind a sofa for a functional lighting solution that adds a welcoming ambiance to the room.
