Generic is part of an exploration, one where designer Philippe Starck wished to retrack the bare essential, the minimum. It is that minimum that Philippe believes holds the beauty and the essence of his furniture. The simplicity in the design of the Generic chairs makes them elegant, timeless and perhaps even invisible. The Generic A is a chair that you find everywhere, the hotel, the hospital, the ministries, the restaurant, the library. For Philippe, the Generic A is elegant yet mysteriously obvious.

The Generic A, with a high and wide seat-back, comfortable armrests and a generally functional design is meant to be of service for the general public. The Generic A chair is available in 6 pastel colour options and can be used in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Please note that Generic A Chairs must be ordered in pairs.
