Santa & Cole Americana Floor Lamp

Designed in the mid-60s, the American floor lamp was a tribute to George Hansen's lamps by Miguel Mila. Hansen designed his lights in the 1950s and featured a basic geometry with a swivel in the middle of a rotating arm, creating two sections on the horizontal axis. Mila took Hansen's design one step further, using the already astonishing geometry and silhouette.

The Americana Floor Lamp features a swing arm at a right angle to the rest of the body meaning the shade, or head of the lamp, can be rotated horizontally, whilst balance is maintained at all times. Contrary to Hansen's lamps, the Americana can be pushed away from you or closer without the need to move the base of the lamp. A perfect reading companion, the American stands 112 cm high, the optimal height to have by your sofa or armchair.
