Mater Ocean Table

The Mater Ocean Table is available in two sizes, with the smaller version accommodating two people and the larger version accommodating four people. It was originally designed in 1955 by Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel utilising plywood, but Mater recently updated the design for a more contemporary audience, utilising plastic waste materials to prevent pollution of the world’s oceans. The Black, Sand and Burnt Red versions of the Ocean Table are crafted from recycled fishing nets and hard plastic, the green OC2 version is manufactured from discarded Carlsberg beer kegs. Each Ocean Table can also be disassembled, allowing it to be fully recycled at the end of its lifespan.

These tables are suitable for indoor and outdoor use and are available in a range of finishes. The most noticeable feature of the Ocean Table is its lightweight structure, allowing it to be easily manoeuvred around your environment. The smaller table is a great addition to smaller residential homes and balconies as well as for dining in the hospitality industry. The larger Ocean table is perfect for gardens, patios, larger commercial spaces and even parks. Each table can be combined with any of the Mater Ocean seating options.

One Black/Sand Ocean table uses 2,8 kg of ocean plastic waste, whilst one Green OC2 Ocean Table contains 2244g / 79.1oz beer keg plastic waste.
