Mater

Founded by Henrik Marstrand in Copenhagen, the Mater designer brand has been “Circular since 2006,” with sustainability and circular production being at the company’s core. The brand create products that have little impact on the environment, using only sustainable materials in collaboration with large global companies to produce timeless and long-lasting designs. Mater use materials such as industrial plastic waste, FSC certified wood and discarded fishing nets to create stylish lighting, furniture and objects, creating a cyclical production line that reduces emissions and waste.

Mater work with many designers to produce stunning pendant lights, floor lamps, seating, wall lights and much more for the contemporary user. Their ethos works hand in hand and supports eight of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, showing how design can help our environment instead of hindering it.
