Foscarini Rituals XL Table Lamp
The Rituals family, with its different and complementary forms, volumes and proportions, now has an extra large version, a new irregular sphere in an impressive size.
The poetry and lightness of the various Rituals versions, somewhere between east and west, rarefaction and materiality, draw their inspiration from traditional Japanese lanterns and, in particular, from the 1950s creations by Isamu Noguchi, bringing a suffused and precious light to a variety of different settings.
Rituals lamps’ refined effect, emphasised by their delicately rounded shape and the glass grinding – achieved through a special industrial process - recalls an ancient craftworking skill. The magic of rice paper and mulberry tree bark, the raw materials of the ritual lanterns is reinterpreted by Ludovica & Roberto Palomba and is visible in the full body of blown, satin-effect glass. The lamp retains its decorative value even when it’s switched off.
On its own or with the other lamps in the family, the assertive personality of Rituals XL can be used to fill large spaces or to define various living areas both in the home environment and in contract spaces.
