Eclisse was designed by eminent designer and architect, Vico Magistretti in the 1960s. The design won the Compasso d'Oro award in 1967 and has been the avant-garde equilibrium between design and utility. By rotating the inner shade, you can adjust the light intensity and direct the light, the same way an eclipse works. By having two shades, a fixed outer and a rotatable inner, you can choose to have a direct or diffused light. The Eclisse table lamp is part of the permanent exhibition in various design museums in the world, including MoMA.
