Carbon Chair by Moooi

Designed by Bertjan Pot and Marcel Wanders, the Carbon chair is a fine example of craftmanship, where high-tech material meets with passion and excitement. As its name states, the Moooi chair is made from carbon fibres and epoxy resin. The material is woven with individual fibres, like thread, creating the effect of a net like surface. The back and seat of the chair have a latticed surface and no sides. This unique material has the same strength as steel, but is extremely light to lift and handle.

The durability of the Carbon chair is enhanced by overlapping the fibres at the meeting point of the base/legs and the seat. The base of the chair has a series of bars interconnecting the legs with the chair, reinforcing its stability. The material also constitutes the Carbon chair suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The Collection includes the Carbon Stool which is available in two seat heights.
