Enigma Pendant Light by Louis Poulsen

Combining Japanese and Scandanavian design ideals, designer Shoichi Uchiyama first created the Enigma pendant light in 2003, being a new, deconstructed take on the traditional chandelier silhouette. The pendant is characterised by a simple, subtle coned light source with spherical, lightweight shades that are suspended underneath.

From afar, these shades appear to mysteriously float in mid-air which is why the light is aptly named Enigma. The pendant light is available in 2 colour finishes, black or brushed aluminium and 2 sizes, the smaller Ø425 and the larger Ø545. The Enigma pendant emits a soft, downward directed light that is glare-free and reflects and emanates through the lower discs. Suitable for commercial settings and homes, this light looks best over tables and surfaces in kitchens and dining areas.
