KDLN Minimal LED Suspension Light

The Minimal suspension light was designed by David Pompa, a Mexican and Austrian designer who designs from his studio based in the heart of Mexico City. The studio is on a constant journey to discover new aspects of craftsmanship and materiality, this is clear within the design of the Minimal suspension. This simplistic and elegant design is characterised by the materials and techniques used in its manufacturing. The material used for this KDLN lamp is Barro Negro, an ancient pottery method produced in San Bartolo Coyotepec in the state of Oaxaca, where pottery is passed from generation to generation and has always been a tradition. Barro Negro, meaning black clay, is hardy, long-lasting, and elegant. Evidence of this material can be found at archeological sites and, up to this time, it is being shaped in the same way the ancient Zapotec used to do.
