Ove Rogne

Ove Rogne is a furniture and lighting designer from Norway. After receiving a Master’s degree in Business and Economics, he started his career in international business management. Driven by a desire to infuse more creativity into the lighting industry, Ove and three friends founded Northern Lighting in 2005. They launched the brand with the classic Snowball Lamp, and under Rogne's direction, their catalogue grew to over 45 products distributed worldwide. Northern aims to create beautiful, functional designs with an emphasis on natural materials.

Ove Rogne draws inspiration from nature for his designs. He was brought up surrounded by the rugged Norwegian wilderness and uses this, as well as the ever-changing lighting (and in winter lack thereof) in Norway to shape his designs. Ove Rogne has won awards for his work such as the Moo Wall Light, which he co-designed with Trond Svendgård, and his Oslo Wood Floor Lamp, which won the Readers Favourite design award from Bo Bedre magazine in 2014.
