Jaime Hayon is a Spanish designer and artist, born in Madrid in 1974.b He studied Industrial Design at Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid before continuing his studies in Paris and Italy. In 1997 Hayon began working as a researcher at Fabrica and the next year was titled as the Head of Design, he kept this title until he parted ways with the company in 2003.
In 2000 Jaime Hayon founded his own studio, Hayon Design, and now houses offices in Italy, Spain and Japan where he focuses on creative cross-sectional designs for numerous manufacturers. His unique work has earned him numerous awards including the 2006 Elle Decoration International Design Awards, the Guest of Honour at the 2008 Belgian Biennial, Designer of the Year at Ad Russia in 2009 and Designer of the Year at Maison Objet in 2010. Time Magazine and Wallpaper Magazine have recognised him as one of the most influential and visionary designers of recent times.
