Atle Tveit is an award-winning Norwegian designer. He collaborates with corporations around the world including Northern, for whom he designed the Acorn Lamp Collection. Tveit draws inspiration from nature in his designs, with the resulting pieces featuring organic shapes and natural materials. He believes that good design is synonymous with simple design, so his work is never overcomplicated with unnecessary details.
After he graduated from Bergen Academy of Art and Design, Tveit went on to open his Oslo-based studio in 2006. For the first four years of the studio’s creation, he worked alongside his former classmate. When their paths went separate ways, Tveit remained in the studio, where he continued designing on his own. Since then, he has been awarded several design awards, including the Award for Design Excellence and the Young Talent Award from The Norwegian Design Council, and Designer of The Year from leading lifestyle and interior design magazine Bo Bedre.
“For me, good design is synonymous with simple design. It's intuitive for everyone, and it's most beautiful when you don't have to think too much about the actual design – it's functional and looks stunning too.” – Atle Tveit
