Danish sculptor Aage Petersen (1902 – 1982) was a renowned sculptor and designer. He trained as a sculptor in Copenhagen at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and went on to become distinguished in his field. He drew inspiration from nature, with his sculptures often featuring pumpkins, birds, hedgehogs, or snails. Aage Petersen also designed lamps, many of which he designed for Danish company Le Klint.
To this day, Le Klint still produces lamps to Petersen’s designs, with some of these designs dating back as early as 1946. Petersen designed the 351 and 349 Floor Lamp and the 352 Table Lamp. Each luminaire features a pleated, hand-folded shade and a brass stand with a black and brass finish. This creates a timeless and chic appearance, which still has a place in modern interiors.
