In 2004, Tom Dixon was involved in an initiative in Jaipur to help craftspeople stop their livelihoods and skills from vanishing as more modern manufacturing processes take over. In this initiative, Tom Dixon was inspired by the traditional brass work used to create water vessels and cooking pots. The shimmering brass is handcrafted into shape and then beaten with a hammer to sculpt and mold the brass and form these intricate indents.
This beaten interior of the water vessels and pots has now been repurposed to refract and reflect light to create the most luxurious and warming luminosity. By supporting the craftspeople of Northern India, Tom Dixon has created these stunningly beautiful and authentic shades that demonstrate the beauty and simplicity of brass. Available as pendants, clusters, floor, table, and wall lights, the Beat collection by Tom Dixon provides a combination of soft golden light and strikingly bold silhouettes. Ideal for above a dining table or as a cluster along a kitchen island, or even place these stunning lights in your living area or bedroom for a calming ambient glow.
