HAY Nelson Bubble

The HAY Nelson Bubble collection was designed by George Nelson in 1947, who drew inspiration from a series of Scandinavian luminaires he was drawn to. Nelson found that these lighting solutions were too expensive for the materials used and the final product so he set out to create a lower-cost option. The Nelson Bubble collection consists of a range of unique shapes with varying textures, crafted from steel wire frames and webbed polymer shades, using a material often used by the US military. These lighting solutions boast organic shapes and are all available in a clean white finish, allowing each variation to adapt to a wide variety of contemporary interiors.

The polymer shade produces an atmospheric illumination that adds a soft elegance to wherever it is displayed. Each of the HAY Nelson Bubble designs can be utilised independently or in clusters and linear rows with other styles in the collection. In 2024 this range of lights saw the introduction of the HAY Nelson Bubble Wall Light - growing the family into a new application and offering further personalisation of your environment.
