The Flos IC collection was created by London-based designer, Michael Anastassiades who was inspired by contact jugglers, who gracefully spin orbs on their bodies. Exploring balance and appearing unstable, the opalescent ball looks as though it might slip away as if it were the apparatus to the juggler’s act. With their spherical blown-glass diffusers which artfully sit atop a metal rod frame, the IC lighting solutions are sleek and minimalistic, adding a striking touch to interiors whilst also broadcasting a clear representation of Anastassiades' take on product design. The spherical glossy glass lampshade of the IC conceals the inner light bulb, producing a soft and diffused glow that is both comforting and inviting.
The Flos IC Lights are available in various floor, table, pendant, and wall/ceiling-mounted versions - whilst also allowing you to choose between either a chrome, matte black, or brushed brass frame. The result is a diverse collection of contemporary luminaires, suitable for a variety of interior styles and needs.
"I came across an online video clip of a contact juggler. He was spinning a set of spheres, moving them around on his arms and the edge of his fingers. And as I got mesmerized by the magic of his skill, suddenly the spheres looked perfectly still. I wanted to capture that exact moment. This was my starting point." - Michael Anastassiades
