Flos Bellhop

The Flos Bellhop collection was originally designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in 2016 for the London Design Museum, starting with just the Portable Lamp. Upon seeing the creation, Flos decided to manufacture it and add it to their range of products - and since then it has evolved into one of their bestselling ranges.

“When we were talking to Flos about that project, we happened to have a really beautiful Japanese bowl in the studio. We simply dimmed the lights and we shone a torch into the underside of this bowl. The reflected light that bounced from the porcelain was really beautiful. So we thought, ‘how could we recreate that?’ And that was the starting point, as abstract as it sounds.” - Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby

Barber and Osgerby wanted to create a lamp that produced a gentle and comfortable illumination, delivering an inviting atmosphere to be enjoyed from day to night. Bellhop is available as a portable table lamp, wall light or floor lamp and boasts an array of finishes that can suit almost any contemporary interior. All of the Bellhop applications provide indirect lighting which can be easily dimmed to further personalise your environment.
