The Bul-Bo collection was originally designed for the Olivetti Residential Center in Ivrea in Turin by the architectural establishment Gabetti & Isola between 1968 and 1971. Their work is still strongly influenced by the enlightened mind of Andriano Olivetti, who passed a few years earlier. Andriano Olivetti was a renowned Italian engineer, entrepreneur and innovator who transformed shop-like operations into a modern factory.
Bul-Bo is a playfully ironic and functional collection that was created, in perfect coherence to that climate of “rebellion against schemes” which, in the second half of the 1960s, would have left an indelible mark on costumes. After 50 years had gone by, Axolight decided to re-propose this iconic collection by introducing contemporary elements in the philological respect of the original design. Each lighting piece in the collection is built from aluminium and fabric. The Bil-Bo consists of three versatile lighting options: floor lamp, table lamp and wall lamp.
