The Astep Le Sfere Collection was designed by Gino Sarfatti, a prolific Italian designer from Venice. Sarfatti was captivated by the perfect light emitted by the moon and used this illumination to inspire the Le Sfere. The collection includes a wall light, a double wall light, and a chandelier. Each piece features blown glass spheres that sit delicately in painted black or champagne steel rings. Due to a small cut in the ring, the spheres can be placed either upward or downward to provide direct or indirect lighting. The sphere’s opal finish creates a glare-free glow that fills the space around it in a warm and ambient light.
Since its conception in 1959, the Le Sfere Collection has been commissioned for a range of notable projects. Among them is the famous Teatro Regio in Turin, Italy. Here, the Le Sfere can be seen in various compositions that highlight the collection's elegance. Columns of lights were created, and grand cascades were composed in a way that emphasised the beauty of the system. Within the home, more modest displays can be created using the wall light or double wall light to add a soft glow to the space. Display in pairs, framing a doorway to create a sense of balance. Create a grand display by installing the Model 2109 chandelier above a dining table to illuminate the space while adding elegance to the room.
