Artemide IXA

The Artemide Ixa collection was inspired by the sculptures of Alexander Calder, and designed by Foster + Partners. These lamps interpret the idea of ‘elegant balance’ through precision engineering, the flexibility of the frame allows each lamp to inhabit different typologies of light – from task lighting to ambient illumination.

The Floor Lamp and Wall Light boasts a spherical lamp head which is counterbalanced by a weight at the opposing end of the stem. The head is connected to the stem through a magnet that allows the lamp head to be rotated to any orientation, while the jack-connections at each junction allow for further flexibility. Whilst the Table Lamp and Reading Floor Lamp include a larger sphere light source, for more relaxing and ambient lighting. Each Ixa lamp brings light to where it is needed in your space, inviting each user to physically interact with the object and making you the 'author of your light space'.
