He moved to Berlin to study industrial design, before moving home to Spain and opening up his own ceramics studio in 2012; this studio investigates the processes and materials around ceramics and their application.
Manosa is known for his bold designs and his experimentations with materials and forms, while his designs often combine modern, industrial techniques with ancient artisan traditions. Xavier Manosas work has been broadcasted at various installations and festivals in Frankfurt, Saint- Étienne, Tokyo, New York, México, Madrid and Stockholm.
"When you dedicate yourself to a type of craft, you grow with the material and the tools. With the tools that I have looked for, built or bought, I have a very different relationship to the ones that came as standard. The workshop is also mutating: eight years ago we moved, and that is very important to start over, especially when you work in a family environment, in which there is the inheritance of the craft but also the emotional inheritance." - Xavier Manosa
