Stefan Diez

Stefan Diez is an industrial designer who grew up around carpenters, this led to him bonding with craftmanship from an early age. Diez originally trained as a carpenter before changing careers and going on to study industrial design at the State Academy of Fine Arts. In 2002, Stefan Diez founded his own studio, DIEZ OFFICE, where he can pursue his passion for experimentation and sustainable design. Within this studio, he creates award-winning lighting, furniture, tableware and accessories. DIEZ OFFICE is dedicated to transforming ideas into actual products with great diligence and proficiency. This studio provides Stefan Diez with the ideal platform to utilise his unique combination of hands-on experimentation and technical know-how.

From 2007 to 2024, Diez also worked as a professor of industrial design at the University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe (HFG), before joining the School of Industrial Design Lund, Sweden, in 2015.
