Søren Refsgaard is a Danish designer who specialises in lighting, furniture, and homeware design. Refsgaard graduated from Design Seminariet in Højer, Denmark in 2003, before opening his own design studio. His Scandinavian roots influence his work, which often showcases the simplicity and functionality of Danish design. His style features seemingly simple designs injected with a touch of humour.
Søren Refsgaard has worked for notable brands worldwide including Le Klint, where he designed the Shibui Collection. Refsgaard grew up surrounded by Le Klint lamps and drew inspiration from Le Klint’s iconic pleated shades. The Shibui collection expertly blends Le Klint’s DNA with a minimalistic Japanese aesthetic. During his career to date, Refsgaard has won many notable awards including the Red Dot Award, Product Design 2017 for Hold-On, Design Plus 2014 for Zig Zag, and Red Dot Honourable Mention 2009 for Great Balls of Wire.
