Sebastian Bergne is a British Industrial Designer. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1990, before setting up his London-based design studio in the same year. His achievements have been widely recognised with international design awards, publications, exhibitions and inclusions in museum collections - such as The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum in London.
Bergne is well known for his ability to make everyday objects special with his extremely personal approach to all of his designs. He is a versatile designer, offering Industrial design to international brands, supplying bespoke objects for restaurants and retailers - as well as producing a growing collection of personal editions. Bergne has collaborated with a multitude of brands, these collaborations include Luceplan, Muji, Swarovski and Tefal.
"Essentially my approach to design is lead by function, manufacturing, material and emotion. That may sound like a contradiction but in my view, a well-designed functional object also has an opportunity to communicate with less tangible associations, humour and some kind of meaning. I consider this opportunity the real joy of design." - Sebastian Bergne
