Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson is an American designer and founder of MINIMAL, a Chicago-based multidisciplinary design studio. His work balances the rational and emotional, and he is driven by his passion for solving problems - at MINIMAL they create simple solutions with an emotional connection. Wilson is best known for his disruptive approach to design, he and his MINIMAL team have been the creative force behind many of today’s most successful products.

His start-up ventures have been equally groundbreaking. In 2010, he disrupted the product development world when Wilson used Kickstarter to launch the designs. His studio experiment raised $1M in 30 days.

Wilson maintains a hands-on approach, his skills shifting seamlessly from that of inventor, designer, storyteller, strategist, entrepreneur and engineer. Wilson has a diverse background in creating across various sectors, including the lifestyle, furniture, medical, and technology industries. Scott Wilson has won a large collection of awards over the years including the prestigious Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design in 2012, he was even named in Time Magazine's Top 100 Designers.
