Sam Weller is a British industrial designer with a background in engineering, born in Bath in 1985, he studied at the Royal College of Art where he graduated in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Design Products. His designs highlight the importance of form and structure with a focus on the materials and function of the product - he designs lighting and furniture that is honest and timeless.
Sam Weller is making a name for himself as one of Britain's upcoming design greats, he has collaborated with HAY, Yamaha, and Fendi, amongst others. For HAY, he has designed the Fifty-Fifty Table, Floor and Wall Lamp and the Anagram Table Lamp. Besides London, Weller has lived and worked in the United States and Asia, at the moment he resides in Copenhagen, where he is now the head of lighting design and development for HAY.
Impressively, Sam Weller has exhibited his work all across Europe, including the V&A in London, Salone del Mobile in Milan and Stockholm Design Week. As well as designing he has also spent time tutoring at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and Brunel University in West London UK.
