Sam Baron

Sam Baron is a French lighting and furniture designer, born in 1976. He studied Design at the Fine Arts School of Saint Etienne and also received a post‐graduation from the Decorative Arts School of Paris before going on to found his own studio, Sam Baron & Co, in 2006 Baron was granted the role of Head of Design at Fabrica, in their communications research centre. He currently lives between Paris, Lisbon and Treviso.

Baron's work prioritises functionality and are reinterpretations of archetypal shapes, with which he creates innovative, everyday objects. As an independent designer and consultant, he’s worked with prestigious clients across the globe, including Louis Vuitton. In 2009 Sam Baron received the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris in the confirmed designer section and in 2010 he was named by Philippe Starck as one of the most important designers of the decade.
