Ruben Saldana is a Spanish designer and engineer born in 1976, he studied engineering and later obtained his Masters degree in Industrial Design Management from Polytechnic University of Catalonia. After graduating he joined Marset took over the department of new product development and in 2004 he founded his own studio - Diba Product Solutions. His company is dedicated to both product design and engineering. Saldana now combines this work with teaching the Design and Product Development program at Elisava.
Saldana was awarded the ADI-FAD medal for the "Land Sailing" project, and the same year he was also awarded third place in the Dupont Imagineering competition for the "Free" project.
