Ron Gilad, born in Tel Aviv in 1972, is a visionary designer whose work explores the boundaries between abstraction and functionality. After studying at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, he spent a decade in New York honing his craft before returning to Tel Aviv in 2013. His designs are marked by their geometric precision, conceptual depth, and subtle irony, blending art and practicality in ingenious ways. With strong ties to Milan’s design scene, Gilad has collaborated with renowned brands such as Flos, Molteni&C, and Salvatori.
Gilad’s pieces range from unique, limited editions to mass-produced items, many of which are part of prestigious museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. His work has been widely recognised, with accolades such as the Elle Décor International Design Award in 2013. Gilad’s creative journey reflects a seamless fusion of art and design, evident in installations like the oversized Red Book at Milan Design Week 2019. His creations continue to inspire through their playful yet profound approach to modern design.
