Prospero Rasulo is an Italian artist and designer who was born in Stigliano di Matera in 1953, he studied at the Milan Fine Arts Academy where he graduated from in 1987. The same year Rasulo set up his own architecture gallery - OXIDO. Here he creates sculptures, objects, one-off pieces and jewels, he commonly experiments with new materials and has collaborated with many major brands.
Prospero Rasulo has worked alongside Studio Alchimia and Alessandro Mendini, working on the projects "Redesign" and "Banal Object". He says that his understanding of design is entirely based on his artistic practice and he does not limit himself to one particular market or application. Rasulo creates from a flow of shapes and colours, creating a perfect harmony in his designs.
"My design and my artistic impressions are not limited to a market. I really hope that my communication of art through an object of use, which is intended for people to live better, is reached as far as it can be. It’s my way of communicating to the world that it’s an object of use, of course, but it’s more than that, it’s a symbolic way of living better." - Prospero Rasulu
