Philip Bro Ludvigsen is a Danish designer born in 1962. He studied at the Danish Design School where he graduated in 1989. After graduating, he taught at the Danish Design School and at the National Institute of Design in India. He founded his own design studio in 1989, called Philip Bro. His studio has since worked with notable international brands including Le Klint, George Jensen, Royal Copenhagen, and IKEA. Ludvigsen began working with Le Klint in the early 1990s. Since then he has designed multiple lamps for the company that blend Le Klint's traditional aesthetic with a contemporary touch. This work includes the Soliel pendant which features a classic hand-pleated shade in a combination with other natural materials.

Ludvigsen’s designs focus on functionality and innovation. Inspired by his Scandinavian roots, he creates serious products with character and a playful touch. During his career to date, Philip Bro Ludvigsen has achieved international recognition and multiple awards, including Design Favourites for 'Candlelight' by Le Klint, Red Dot (Germany) for the ‘UnderCover’ pendant by Le Klint, and German Design Award for ‘Moai’ chair by Softline.
