Norway Says is a Norwegian design studio founded in 2002 in Oslo. The company was founded by Espen Voll, Andreas Engesvik and Torbjorn Andersson. They designed everything from furniture, lighting, glass, porcelain and textiles. The trio became a leader in Norwegian design with their Scandinavian aesthetic and goal for complex simplicity - they put Norwegian design on the map.
It is not surprising that they won a multitude of awards, such as Designers of the Year (2003, 2005), Torsten and Wanja Award (2008) and even the Bruno Mathsson Award in 2004, which is the highest honour in furniture design in Sweden.
"Good design defends itself by being natural. What this means differs from product to product – a work lamp can have other qualities than a lamp for the home. Norway Says doesn't have a program, but you might say that we seek an expression that doesn't have simplicity as a goal but often uses a simple language to express a complex idea."
