The New Works Studio was established in 2015, by Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik. They wanted to create a design studio which focuses on care and intention whilst still allowing room for experimentation. Nikolaj Meier juggles the daily operations as managing director, whilst Knut Bendik Humlevik expresses himself through the role of Creative Director.
New Works are constantly evolving; they understand the importance of strong Scandinavian traditions in design such as high-quality materials and craftsmanship, but they still encourage their team to challenge the norm. The studio collaborates with various independent designers that share their values, working together to create a contemporary collection of special, yet accessible, objects for everyday life.
