Monika Mulder

Monika Mulder is a Danish designer, born in 1972 in the Netherlands. She creates functional and playful designs for a range of manufacturers, with an interest in sculptural aspects of the field, and she harnessed her creativity from an early age. From 1992 to 1997 Mulder studied at the Danish Academy in Eindhoven, and after graduating interned at IKEA in Sweden in the design department. This led to a job and a succession of notable projects with the brand that are still part of the IKEA catalogue today.

In 2007 Monika Mulder founded her own design studio based in Gothenburg where she designs independently, for her work she has won a range of awards including the Best Swedish Design and Best Furniture of the Year Award. Her work has been showcased at international exhibitions as well as being published in books like the International Design Yearbook. She gives grace and beauty to everyday products.
