Matteo Ugolini

Matteo Ugolini is an Italian designer, born in Pesaro, Italy in 1973. He studied at the University of Design in Ancone, and upon graduating went on to work for the studio Telemaco - he spent ten years here. In 2008, Ugolini took on the role of Art Director for Karman, where he slipped away from ordinary design outlines entering the company in a unique and distinctive path.

Ugolini still works at Karman and has created numerous iconic designs alongside the brand, his work aims to excite and create emotions, utilising simple lines and shapes and natural colour palettes. Matteo Ugolini does not define himself as a designer, and designs what he likes rather than sticking to a strict niche. Although many of his pieces have clear aspects of nature woven within, remembering that the past and nature are deeply connected.
