Mads Caprani (1942–2014) was a Danish lighting designer whose visionary approach transformed mid-century lighting design. Best known for the Timberline Floor Lamp, Caprani combined organic forms with innovative materials to create pieces that are as striking as they are timeless. Originally trained as an electrician, Caprani honed his craft at Louis Poulsen, where he worked alongside Danish design legends like Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen.
Under his leadership, Caprani Light became an internationally recognised brand, with its pleated lampshades and sculptural designs gaining acclaim across Europe and the United States. Today, Caprani’s work enjoys a revival, with his iconic designs continuing to captivate new generations of design enthusiasts.
