Lucie Koldova is a Czech designer based in Prague and Paris. Upon graduating from Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in 2009 she moved to Paris and within three years opened her own studio. Focusing on basic materials such as wood and glass, her work is famous for her use of unusual proportions. She achieves both minimalism and elegance, and her work is mainly focused on creating objects of desire using classic craftsmanship and cutting-edge technologies.
“For me pure design can be boring but what I try is to project my nature and my emotions into the design, and I believe that the objects I’m making have a certain energy. I don’t call myself an industrial designer. I’m a designer but I work with emotions and feelings. It’s very hard to describe my work because I do it intuitively” – Lucie Koldova, Attitude Magazine 2015
In 2014, Lucie was appointed art director of
Brokis and has since created a range of timeless designs for the company. Not only is her work visually striking but she is also celebrated for her ability to combine the cultures from both the French and Czech capitals.
