Josep Lluis Xucla

Josep Lluis Xucla is a Spanish designer and interior decorator, born in Barcelona in 1956. His focus lies in minimalism and he successfully achieves a balance between form and function. Xucla studied Interior Design at Escola d'Arts i Oficis de Barcelona and in 1977 he started in the world of graphic design. Three years later he started working at ATRI, a contemporary design furniture store, before founding his studio, Xucla Design, in 1992. Xucla has since gained international recognition, throughout his career he has earned various awards; prominent amongst them are the Red Dot Design Award, the IF Product Design Award, the Designpreis and the Good Design Award.

Xucla has worked closely with Vibia for many years and has created some iconic designs for the brand, and he continues to develop various interior decoration and lighting projects, as well as furniture. He carries out product and furniture design projects based mainly on geometric rigor and minimalism.
