Jorge Pensi is a Spanish furniture and lighting designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied architecture in Argentina before moving to Barcelona in 1975 and founding Grupo Berenguer Design Agency in 1977 with a collection of other artists and designers.
In 1984, Pensi decided it was time to open up his own practice in Barcelona, and the Jorge Pensi Design Studio was born. Their ethos is to create products with a balance between poetry and realism, and their designs are best described as timeless and a great example of expressive minimalism. His incredible work awarded him the National Design Prize by the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the BCD Foundation for outstanding professional achievement.
