Jinsik Kim is a Korean designer, born in 1983. He carried an interest in design throughout his early life and he obtained a Masters in the subject from the University of Art & Design (ECAL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2013, he founded his Seoul-based studio where he focuses on abstract minimalism and collaborates with global brands. He has worked with brands, such as Hermes, Nestle, Wallpaper* magazine and FRAME magazine.

Kim's work has also been displayed at renowned fairs such as Design Miami, Salone del Mobile, Maison & Objet and New York Design Week. The work of Jinsik Kim is described as an innovative and brave venture into materials, he is interested in the boundary between life and objects with people and focuses more on the essence of forms and creative thinking.

"I would like to put my effort into design art because it is a small part of Korea. It is really an important thing to make various opinions for living, culture and society via design. In Korea, we don't have many options for design objects. People are familiar with mass production from larger companies but I believe that independent designers need to question why we are alive and how we live. My question is that design can be a poem or a sculpture." - Jinsik Kim
