Jessica Vedel is a Danish interior designer and product designer. Through her work, she expresses her love for mixing contemporary and vintage pieces while paying homage to her Danish heritage. Initially starting a career in fashion, Vedel moved on to interior design and opened her studio, J. Vedel, in 2012. In 2016 she moved her studio to New York before moving back to Copenhagen.
Jessica Vedel collaborated with Nuura to create The Florii Collection. She was keen to work with Nuura as they both draw inspiration from Nordic nature. Nuura’s philosophy is to create “unique and aesthetic lighting that reflects the riches and joy found in Nordic nature”, which is similar to the way Jessica works, so she knew that the partnership would be a good fit. Inspiration for The Florii Collection came from a walk in the woods, where Jessica found herself captivated by the way sunlight danced on an autumn leaf. Jessica designs for high-end settings, focusing on high-quality materials.
“We all need light to thrive. Natural daylight is important, but also the indoor light we use has a huge effect on our health and wellbeing, as well as how we perceive a space.” - Jessica Vedel.
