Jean Marie Massaud
Jean Marie Massaud is a French designer, architect and inventor who was born in Toulouse in 1966. He graduated from ENSCI-Les Ateliers de Paris in 1990 and began his career in Hong Kong before collaborating with designer Marc Berthier and architect Daniel Pouzet to found Studio Massaud in 2000. He has worked for a range of huge brands in a range of sectors, including Foscarini and has taught at Domus Academy in Milan and the European Institute of Design in Turin. Massaud also received numerous prizes and awards, including the ADI Compasso d'Oro in 2011.

Massaud works in a range of design fields, as well as in architecture and brand development, and his work focuses on essential yet emotional design. His work follows a quest for lightness and he wants to use his designs to connect people and nature - nature is the primary source of inspiration for the designer, who pursues solutions that can arouse emotions in the user. The result is elegant products that utilise simple elements and minimalistic forms.

"I try to find an honest and generous path with the idea that, somewhere between hard economic data, there are users, there are People." - Jean Marie Massaud
