Jamie McLellan is an internationally recognised designer whose work spans over two decades and encompasses a diverse range of industries. From lighting and furniture to bicycles and watercraft, Jamie’s designs celebrate engineering ingenuity with a minimalist aesthetic. Based in New Zealand, Jamie’s career has included collaborations with esteemed brands like Resident, Neil Pryde, and Tom Dixon, as well as innovative startups like Allbirds, where he served as Head of Design.
Early in his career, Jamie honed his skills in Italy, Hong Kong, and Hawaii before moving to London to work alongside Tom Dixon. He later returned to New Zealand to establish his own design consultancy, where he continued to push the boundaries of material innovation and functional design. His work is characterised by a refined simplicity and a “just the right amount of nothing” philosophy, making each piece both striking and practical.
Jamie’s tenure at Allbirds deepened his understanding of sustainability and material science, inspiring a new perspective on design that prioritises environmental impact without compromising beauty.
